• User content (devotionals, journal entries, prayer requests, VerseVisions);

• Payment data processed securely by third parties.

2. How We Use Information

We use your data to operate, maintain, and improve the Service; to provide personalized experiences; and to ensure platform security and compliance. We do not sell or rent personal information. For users in jurisdictions that require it (such as the European Union), our lawful bases for processing data include performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, consent, and our legitimate interests in improving and securing the Service.

3. Data Sharing

We share data only with trusted service providers (Firebase, Stripe, analytics tools) and legal authorities when required. Third parties may use your data only as necessary to perform their services for Gladness. This may include AI or machine-learning service providers that help us generate content or improve service performance, subject to appropriate contractual safeguards. Gladness is not responsible for the data-handling practices, outages, or security incidents of third-party providers, though we require them to comply with industry-standard protections and applicable privacy laws.

4. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as needed for the Service or as required by law. Encrypted journal entries remain private and are never shared publicly.

5. Data Security and Breach Limitation

We implement and maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption, secure authentication, and access controls, to protect your information. However, no system is entirely secure. Gladness disclaims liability for any damages resulting from unauthorized access, breaches, or third-party failures. If a breach occurs, we will investigate and notify affected users as required by law.

6. AI Processing and Automated Content

Gladness uses artificial-intelligence tools to generate personalized devotionals, creative images, and scripture-inspired content based on the inputs you provide. These tools may temporarily process your submitted text or content in order to produce the requested output. Personal data is processed only as necessary to deliver the feature and is not used to train external AI models. Gladness does not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data;
• Object to or restrict certain types of processing;
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (for California residents);
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority or privacy regulator.

Gladness is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in some regions).
